During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, the Japanese economy continued to recover moderately, supported by a rebound in personal consumption and capital investment. However, the outlook remained uncertain due to factors including rising labor costs amid structural labor shortages, surging raw material and energy prices, and heightened geopolitical uncertainty, including developments in the Middle East.
Under these circumstances, the Group recorded consolidated net sales of ¥135,613 million, up 5.1% from the previous fiscal year and reaching a record high. Operating profit was ¥13,081 million, down 4.9%; ordinary profit was ¥13,560 million, down 1.5%; and profit attributable to owners of parent was ¥10,223 million, up 1.7%. Although net sales increased, operating and ordinary profit declined mainly due to lower profits in the Mechatronics Systems Business and the Agricultural Equipment Business.
Net sales in the Packaging Plant Business increased from the previous fiscal year. In food plants, sales of seasoning filling systems and aseptic filling systems for beverages decreased. Meanwhile, sales of sake filling systems for alcoholic beverage plants increased. In pharmaceutical and cosmetics plants, sales of syringe filling systems for injectable drugs, ophthalmic solution filling systems, and cosmetics filling systems increased.
As a result, net sales in this segment were ¥84,041 million, up 4.9% from the previous fiscal year, and operating profit was ¥13,239 million, up 5.3%.
Net sales in the Mechatronics Systems Business increased from the previous fiscal year. Sales of semiconductor manufacturing systems increased, driven by strong sales of bonders for optical communication modules used in data centers. Sales of medical equipment also increased, as production was ramped up from the third quarter following the resolution of component shortages, resulting in higher sales to overseas markets, including North America.
As a result, net sales in this segment were ¥38,997 million, up 3.3% from the previous fiscal year. Operating profit was ¥1,781 million, down 23.9%. The decrease in operating profit was mainly attributable to a lower proportion of higher value-added models in the sales mix for semiconductor manufacturing systems, as well as additional costs incurred for the replacement of components in medical equipment due to durability issues identified in the previous fiscal year.
Net sales in the Agricultural Equipment Business increased from the previous fiscal year. Although sales of grading and sorting plants for deciduous fruits decreased, sales of grading and sorting plants for citrus fruits and vegetables increased.
As a result, net sales in this segment were ¥12,574 million, up 12.6% from the previous fiscal year, and operating profit was ¥520 million, down 50.1%. The decrease in operating profit was mainly attributable to lower profitability on certain large-scale plant projects and an increase in depreciation expenses following the completion of the new head office plant.
Looking ahead, while positive factors are anticipated, including increased semiconductor demand driven by the growing adoption of AI, the outlook is expected to remain uncertain due to factors such as rising labor costs amid structural labor shortages, surging raw material and energy prices, and heightened geopolitical uncertainty, including developments in the Middle East.
Under these circumstances, net sales in the Packaging Plant Business for the next fiscal year are expected to increase. Although overseas customers for the Company’s core aseptic filling systems for beverages remain cautious about capital investment amid uncertainty in the global economy, several large-scale investment projects are in the pipeline, and sales of pharmaceutical equipment and seasoning filling systems are also expected to increase.
In the Mechatronics Systems Business, net sales are expected to increase, reflecting continued demand for semiconductor manufacturing systems related to AI data centers and anticipated growth in overseas demand for dialysis equipment.
In the Agricultural Equipment Business, net sales are expected to increase, with continued firm investment in grading and sorting plants driven by growing demand for the reorganization and consolidation of aging sorting facilities under the government subsidy program, the “New Basic Plan Implementation and Agricultural Structural Transformation Support Project.”
Based on the above, for the next fiscal year, the Group forecasts consolidated net sales of ¥150,000 million, up 10.6% from the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026; operating profit of ¥16,000 million, up 22.3%; ordinary profit of ¥16,200 million, up 19.5%; and profit attributable to owners of parent of ¥11,000 million, up 7.6%.
