Human Rights Policy
The Shibuya Group’s corporate philosophy of “Work with Joy” has taken root among our employees as a fundamental value that has supported our business activities since our founding.
Our Basic Sustainability Policy states that we respect the human rights of all stakeholders, including people who may be in socially vulnerable positions, regardless of personal attributes such as gender or nationality. It also states that we promote the creation of a rewarding workplace where diverse talents can work with energy and enthusiasm, while developing an environment where employees can work safely and healthily, both physically and mentally.
Guided by these values, we are committed to taking action to help improve local communities and people’s lives.
Based on our Management Philosophy and management guidelines, we respects the human rights of all stakeholders through business activities, including business partners and all officers and employees.
- Respect for International Human Rights Standards
We comply with the laws and regulations of the countries and regions where we conduct business. We also respect internationally recognized human rights standards, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. - Human Rights Due Diligence
We are committed to conducting appropriate due diligence to prevent and mitigate adverse human rights impacts that may arise from our business activities. We will continue to strengthen and improve our efforts to respect human rights. - Establishment of Grievance Mechanisms
We have established and operate consultation channels that are available to both internal and external stakeholders. We protect those who report concerns by ensuring anonymity and confidentiality, prohibiting any disadvantageous treatment or retaliation, and endeavoring to provide appropriate correction and remedy. - Engagement with Business Partners
Our business activities are supported by the cooperation of many stakeholders, including business partners, customers, and shareholders. We engage with our business partners to encourage respect for human rights and prevent human rights violations. - Respect for All Officers and Employees
We place the highest priority on respecting the human rights of all officers and employees and providing a workplace where everyone can embrace “Work with Joy.”
We work to eliminate all forms of discrimination and do not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or human rights violations on any grounds, including race, ethnicity, social origin, family origin, age, nationality, creed, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or health status.
We also respect individual diversity through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). By creating an environment where all officers and employees can play active roles, we aim to enable diverse talents to work with energy and enthusiasm while respecting one another’s values, thereby enhancing the quality of our contribution to local communities.
